LAFAYETTE — The St. Elizabeth School of Nursing has found a new home in an old building.
The nursing school is officially moved into its new location inside the old St. Elizabeth Hospital, which is just across the street from its former building on Franciscan Health’s Lafayette Central campus.
The hospital, which was mostly vacant, underwent a $15 million renovation and is now the Franciscan Education Center. The site houses the nursing school, Emergency Medical Services offices and classrooms, a high fidelity simulation lab and community education classrooms.
"The student study space used to be the hospital lobby and what used to be a gift shop is now a library," said Terry Wilson, president and CEO of Franciscan Health.
